In this article, we’re going to explore the latest Autodesk AutoCAD 2018 New Features.
What’s New in AutoCAD 2018?
AutoCAD is the most flexible design and drafting software on the market today. But it’s also the most feature-rich, with plenty of options and capabilities to satisfy any designer, drafter, engineer, or business professional.
AutoCAD is always evolving. New features are introduced in AutoCAD all the time. In fact, the latest release, AutoCAD 2018, has over 100 new features. Below are some of the new features available in AutoCAD 2018.
Speed up your work with the new AutoCAD’s powerful navigation.
This is perhaps the most highly anticipated AutoCAD 2018 feature. AutoCAD 2018 now features dynamic navigation, letting you move seamlessly between documents and apply changes faster than ever before.
Navigation works differently in AutoCAD depending on the selected tool. Dynamic navigation is available in the following tools:
These new navigation features are revolutionary! With the use of dynamic navigation, you can perform all your tasks with a new level of efficiency. You’ll find it easier than ever to navigate between, and make changes to, your drawings.
Speed up your work with customizable commands.
Do you work with the same symbols every day? Do you navigate to the same files every time? AutoCAD 2018 has introduced customizable commands, which lets you tailor the commands you use in AutoCAD.
You can create your own custom commands to save time when you work with a particular
AutoCAD also contains a free tool called the Linked Header command, which is used to annotate lines, arcs, polygons, and curves with a series of marks, letters, symbols, etc.
The command-line version of AutoCAD was discontinued in 2014 and is no longer available on the official website.
The ability to open and close drawings is provided by the Project file format.
There are two types of drawing application: CAD and CAM.
CAD applications are tools that allow users to draw and modify geometry. They can open and close drawings, select objects, insert new objects, change the viewport, create and modify drawings, and edit drawings created by other software, including other CAD systems. A complete list of CAD applications is available in the file format description.
CAM applications are used to prepare and view files. They can open and close drawings, view them as layers or sections, zoom in and out, scale them, adjust color and linetype, view attributes of objects, and apply project properties. A complete list of CAM applications is available in the file format description.
Importing and exporting
AutoCAD uses the DXF file format for importing and exporting. The DXF file format is based on a DICTIONARY. A DXF file contains a collection of objects, sets of objects, layers, and blocks. A block is a placeholder for any type of geometric entity, including text, line, spline, arc, polyline, ellipse, circle, circle arc, chamfer arc, text, hatch, shaded, textured, faces, and solid bodies. A DXF file can contain any combination of these items.
If the DXF file contains a mixture of geometric entities, then all the geometric entities in the file are merged together. For example, a DXF file that contains a text block, a polyline block, a circle block, and a circle arc block would be merged into a single polyline and text block. A DXF file is considered complete when no more blocks can be added to it. The DXF file format is not self-contained, and thus requires a DICTIONARY and a COLLECTION.
A DXF file can be edited by any program that can edit a DICTIONARY, which is any DRAWING application, whether it is a DRAWING application or a CAD application. This means that it

Contralateral rotation and forelimb asymmetry in the rat.
Unilateral forelimb suspension in rats induces contralateral limb rotation, apomorphine-induced contralateral forelimb placing, apomorphine-induced forelimb asymmetry, and forelimb-shaking behavior, all of which are presumed to involve a contralateral limb representation. The effects of daily training on such behavior in forelimb-suspended animals are discussed, and it is proposed that such training may alter the contralateral limb representation in the brain. The literature on contralateral limb representation in rats is reviewed. The Next Generation of America’s Fighting Aircraft
Coventry, Virginia, USA – July 8, 2008: The F-35 is seen under construction at Lockheed Martin. Source: Lockheed Martin. The next generation of military aircraft is set to enter service beginning this decade. This article describes four of the more capable aircraft that are on the horizon.
In the 1990s, America ended the Cold War and began the war against terror. For the first time since the Korean War, the skies over the United States were cleared of Soviet-made anti-aircraft missiles and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. Today, America finds itself in an entirely new type of war, one that demands a new kind of aircraft.
“It’s a new era in warfare,” said Col. James Ashworth, director of aircraft acquisition. “The threat environment has changed. There are new types of systems that we have to deal with in a new way.”
America’s air forces have always had to fight the traditional Cold War foe, the Soviet Union, who produced an overwhelming number of SAMs and air-to-air missiles. The Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact nations still produce thousands of SAMs, but the threat to America is different.
Beginning with the 1991 Gulf War, the United States found itself locked in a decade-long conflict against Iraq’s ruthless dictator Saddam Hussein. The threat of a chemical or biological attack came up, but Iraq’s Scud missile was relatively low-tech. The threat was never the

Markup Assist, which is used to address the needs of a wide variety of users, has been further enhanced. Now you can use a companion app to display and interact with your existing drawings and diagrams, which can be browsed offline or offline. You can even reuse markups for workflows that you use regularly. (video: 1:34 min.)
AutoCAD Drawing Assistant:
Enhancements to the most common functions in the new Ribbon menu, such as the commands from the Analysis or Dimension tab or the option to change the active sheet, are now included in the Drawing Assistant.
Manually or automatically wrap long words on the fly in a drawing.
Faster insertion of objects on a new tab:
When you select multiple drawing tabs in the drawing window, a new tab is opened. This functionality has been enhanced to allow the object to be added as a whole to the new tab, without the need to navigate to the tab that contains the drawing object.
Work in Progress:
Drafts show the design status of your drawing at all times, with no additional clutter. If a portion of the design is modified, the design status is updated as soon as the modification is made.
Paste lists with placeable objects that are pasted to a drawing and inserted into an elevation or detail section, or into a 2D placement view. You can now manage and create these lists directly from the Drawing Assistant or from an existing drawing.
Extended Capacity for Places (and other drawing features):
The new AutoCAD 2023 release offers the largest capacity for the places feature in AutoCAD history. You can now use places to plan and manage large numbers of drawing objects.
Now you can have an unlimited number of viewing views, such as 3D views, using the grid lines.
You can now use the array property to control the size of the grid.
You can now use the new dimension-based selection tool in any dimension.
The multi-tool enables you to quickly select and place multiple objects.
You can now use the multi-tool in blocks.
The multi-tool has a blue frame, and when the selected objects are in a selected block, the multi-tool
