Highly conductive composites were synthesized from the in-situ polymerization of 3-aminophenylboronic acid modified graphene oxide (PAPBA-GO) and of polypyrrole (PPy) on reduced graphene oxide (RGO). The formation of PPy or PPy-GO composites on RGO was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis and Raman spectroscopy. The composite obtained by the chemical grafting of boronic acid functionalized graphene oxide (BA-GO) on PPy was designed as reference material. The different morphological properties of the obtained composites were assessed by X-ray diffraction and UV-vis spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction analysis showed the formation of PPy or PPy-GO/RGO composites with an amorphous structure and confirmed the structural difference between PPy and PPy/GO/RGO composites. The SEM analysis of the PPy-GO/RGO composites indicated the formation of a three-dimensional conductive network with interconnected PPy nanoparticles on GO/RGO. The conductivity of the composites was obtained by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement. The good conductivity and the electroactive properties of the composites were studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) measurements.
